Synchronising forms and subforms

Hi there,

I created several tables and related them correctly (I think) and from this I've created the main form that we're going to use to enter data. On the form there are a number of subforms and I can't seem to get these to synchronise.

For example, we have a subform which details the organisation's general details. We record the individual person's contact name and details on the main form to go with that individual record, but I thought the organisation details (company name and address) could be kept seperately as there may be multiple people from the same organisation applying, who would each require their own individual record.

I tried filling in the first record and then went to a new blank record, but the organisaton details subform carries with it the information from the first record. As far as I can see all the other subforms are synchronised but I'm not sure how I've done this.

How can I make sure all subforms are synchronised to the main form so that when I select a new record every field is blank?

Without seeing the actual forms can be difficult to see why its not working. However, you could try this. You should have 2 seperate forms made up, one the primary form, and a secondary form, the subform. These are both seperate at this stage. Open the Primary form in design view. Then drag and drop the subform into this primary form where it needs to go, this will automatically link the two. If not, then we need to look further at the database structure.

Access tip:

Remove spaces in a table

If you have a table that has too many space marks littered around, you can create a update query and use the trim function to get rid of any excess space marks
