If you want to insert a picture into Powerpoint, simply go up to the Insert menu and down to Picture, this will bring up a browse menu where you can locate your picture on your pc. You can find a picture from anywhere, internet, clipart, scanned image and you just need to remember where you saved it to be able to relocate it
