How do I specify a start date for a project

RE: Mocrosoft projects

Hi Kio

Thank you for your question. When you are setting up your project you can use Project > Project information to set your project's start date.

If your planning is underway and you want to move your project forward you can use View > Toolbars > Analysis > Adjust dates to pick the project up and move it to a new date. This will preserve slack in your plan and move full constraint dates too.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Autofit column width – Project (all versions)

At the top of the columns where each column name is located (Task Name, Duration, etc.), hover over the vertical column line which you want to move.

A short bold vertical line will appear, with horizontal arrows pointing left and right.

Left click and hold this icon and it will permit you to grab the column line, allowing you to move it left or right to your desired location.
