{"id":736,"date":"2012-10-10T15:43:07","date_gmt":"2012-10-10T15:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.microsofttraining.net\/b\/powerpointtraining\/?p=49"},"modified":"2023-12-30T23:15:13","modified_gmt":"2023-12-30T23:15:13","slug":"how-to-add-slides-and-add-layouts-powerpoint-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/how-to-add-slides-and-add-layouts-powerpoint-training\/","title":{"rendered":"How to add slides and add layouts (Powerpoint Training)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have created a blank presentation, using the File menu, and then selected New, and Blank presentation<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51\" style=\"width: 252px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/new-powerpoint-file-Powerpoint.training.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-51\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/new-powerpoint-file-Powerpoint.training-252x300.png\" alt=\"new-powerpoint-file-Powerpoint.training\" width=\"252\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Create a new file using the File menu, select New, then Blank Document.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>PowerPoint gives me one slide. \u00a0Now I know I&#8217;m going to need at least three slides for my presentation, so I want to add two more slides.<\/p>\n<p>I use the ribbon, I&#8217;m already in the Home tab, so I select the New Slides icon, if I click on the picture of a new slide, one new slide is inserted.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52\" style=\"width: 281px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/Home-tab-insert-slide-icon-Powerpoint.Training.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-52\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/Home-tab-insert-slide-icon-Powerpoint.Training.png\" alt=\"Home-tab-insert-slide-icon-Powerpoint.Training\" width=\"281\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Insert Slide icon makes it really easy to add to your presentation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I get a new blank slide. \u00a0I want to add another one, so I click on the icon again, and now I have three pages in my presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Then next job is to <strong>add the layout<\/strong> to my new slides.<br \/>\nI select the\u00a0the second slide, and use my right mouse click to bring up some options for formatting, I select Layout.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53\" style=\"width: 215px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/formatting-slide-right-mouse-click-powerpoint.training.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-53\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/formatting-slide-right-mouse-click-powerpoint.training-215x300.png\" alt=\"formatting-slide-right-mouse-click-powerpoint.training\" width=\"215\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-53\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Layout options appear for you to view and select the one to fit the content in your presentation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This gives me a drop down menu of slide formats, I can slide my cursor over these to preview the format, and when I am happy I click the layout I want.<\/p>\n<p>I can repeat this with the third slide, using the same method.
