Though many have criticised this image as little more than an \u201c8 reasons to upgrade to Windows 8<\/strong><\/span>\u201d advert, it clearly depicts Microsoft\u2019s vision for the future<\/strong><\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Like it or not, Windows 8 is the direction Microsoft are headed, and it’s here to stay. The latest OS is steering towards\u00a0bridging the gap between touch and desktop<\/strong><\/span>., not to mention a gentle push towards online collaboration and cloud storage with Office 365 & web apps.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve already noticed a trend in helping businesses make the transition from XP to Windows 7<\/strong><\/span> (read our case studies<\/a>), and it won\u2019t be long until we see a surge in Windows 8 converts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main issue for businesses is that Windows 8 in it\u2019s own words, is a \u201creimagined version of Windows<\/strong><\/span>\u201d. Metro tiles and app stores give the OS a completely new feel and user experience which is sure to upset some, though training on the new OS is surprisingly affordable<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a bold move from Microsoft. But they have realised that in the computing world, \u201cif you\u2019re standing still, you\u2019re going backwards\u201d<\/strong><\/span>. Innovation and product development<\/strong> <\/span>is what\u2019s going to take the desktop and tablet war to the next level<\/strong><\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n
