It is even more pronounced when we feel powerless to stop\u00a0it,\u00a0or\u00a0it doesn\u2019t\u00a0suit where we want to go.<\/p>\n<p>Stress related illnesses can range from despair and depression, anxiety, heart palpitations, to raised\u00a0blood pressure and panic attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Why is change itself stressful when it is the natural order of\u00a0things? Not one second remains the same, so why do we believe lives should also stay so?<\/p>\n<p>As our\u00a0self-awareness\u00a0expands,\u00a0change happens more quickly\u00a0as\u00a0new understandings and perspectives\u00a0become\u00a0known to us. Is it finding out certain truths that we fear or find challenging? For example\u00a0a\u00a0relationship\u00a0that\u00a0doesn\u2019t serve\u00a0us\u00a0any longer, or work\u00a0pressures taking their toll on\u00a0our health?<\/p>\n<p>Anger or\u00a0disappointment, if not channelled, can turn in on itself and lead\u00a0to feelings of gloom, despondency and emptiness.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, though, we are desperate to change and feel stuck.\u00a0The more we desire it, the more we feel like we are banging our heads on a brick wall. This builds up the pressure inside us until one day, we do something dramatic, or dangerous even, to\u00a0upend\u00a0the status quo.<\/p>\n<p>When we refuse to examine the negative situations we find ourselves in, events\u00a0often\u00a0conspire to shake\u00a0us\u00a0awake in ways that can\u00a0feel shocking.\u00a0We are left wondering why we didn\u2019t listen to ourselves\u00a0when those signals first became apparent.<\/p>\n<p>The mind \u2013 the spirit- loves new things, change and\u00a0challenges,\u00a0if only we\u2019d stop the ego dictating terms and keeping us \u2018small\u2019.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3553\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3553\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/stress-management-2-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"Tips for managing stress\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/stress-management-2-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/stress-management-2.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Keep on top of stress<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b><i>Honour Change<\/i><\/b><b><i>, Take Control<\/i><\/b><b><i>.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0We can only gain equilibrium if we understand that Life\u00a0<i>is<\/i>\u00a0change. That\u00a0a master plan for humanity\u00a0exists. That the ways we\u2019ve been carrying on no longer work and are making us ill.\u00a0At that\u00a0catalytic\u00a0point,\u00a0we gain\u00a0understanding and determination. We are now in control and the stress is being used \u2018positively\u2019 to drive the new forward, instead of overwhelming us.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Hold your Vision<\/i><\/b><b><i>, Calm your Mind<\/i><\/b><b><i>.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0A good coping strategy would be to write down what\u00a0you\u00a0are aiming\u00a0for.\u00a0If you can\u2019t\u00a0think\u00a0how\u00a0to rectify the situation, write down what WOULD help you,\u00a0so that your mind is calmed. Focus on that and not on the\u00a0current\u00a0situation,\u00a0as\u00a0that only gives\u00a0it more\u00a0power.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Focus on the Outcome, Change your Perspective<\/i><\/b><b><i>.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0Instead of\u00a0struggling,\u00a0allow the path to unfold.\u00a0\u00a0The mere acceptance that it\u00a0<i>is<\/i>\u00a0unfolding, even when we can\u2019t see it yet &#8211; can often\u00a0release\u00a0pent-up stress. We are\u00a0now using the \u2018energy\u2019 to create the new (that is, taking\u00a0concrete\u00a0steps towards our goals or\u00a0following\u00a0an action plan) and not using it to beat ourselves up.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Out of Chaos<\/i><\/b><b><i>,<\/i><\/b><b><i>\u00a0comes Peace.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0The chaos which surrounds us can then be viewed as necessary to take us to calmer waters. That takes a strong and calm mind. Meditation and connection\u00a0with the self is crucial.
