This is not three separate cells, with a colour change for each individual cell. The A1, B1 and C1 cells were merged. To merge cells, do the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Type the words <strong>Shopping Bill<\/strong>into cell A1 of a spreadsheet<\/li>\n<li>Highlight the cells A1, B1 and C1<\/li>\n<li>On the Alignment panel of the Excel Ribbon, locate the &#8220;Merge and Center&#8221; item:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.homeandlearn.co.uk\/excel2007\/images\/MergeCells.gif\" alt=\"Merge and Centre\" width=\"274\" height=\"87\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the down arrow to see the following options:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.homeandlearn.co.uk\/excel2007\/images\/MergeCells2.gif\" alt=\"Merge Options in Excel 2007\" width=\"152\" height=\"92\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Click on &#8220;Merge and Center&#8221;.
