{"id":254,"date":"2012-10-15T10:58:39","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T10:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.microsofttraining.net\/b\/powerpointtraining\/?p=254"},"modified":"2023-12-30T23:25:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-30T23:25:11","slug":"how-to-insert-excel-data-into-a-powerpoint-presentation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/how-to-insert-excel-data-into-a-powerpoint-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"How to insert Excel data into a Powerpoint presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is another thing I didn&#8217;t realise that Powerpoint could do.<\/p>\n<p>Using my garden project presentation, I want to <strong>add a basic chart \u00a0from scratch<\/strong> that compares the costs of sourcing plants from a nursery, from donations or cuttings, or a combination of the two.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, Powerpoint led me through the process for adding basic information to make bar chart.<\/p>\n<p>I clicked on the <strong>Insert tab<\/strong> and selected <strong>Chart<\/strong>, which is located in the <strong>Illustrations<\/strong> menu.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_257\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-257\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/Insert-tab-bar-chart-excel-powerpoint-training.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-257 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/Insert-tab-bar-chart-excel-powerpoint-training-300x103.png\" alt=\"Insert-tab-bar-chart-excel-powerpoint-courses\" width=\"300\" height=\"103\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-257\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My Excel bar chart can be created using the Insert tab, and Chart option located in the Illustrations section.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When I selected the bar chart, Powerpoint opened up an extra screen with the key headings for my chart. \u00a0I then added the data I wanted. \u00a0The chart was updated as I worked.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_256\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-256\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/insert-excel-data-presentation-excel-powerpoint-training.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/powerpointtraining\/files\/2012\/10\/insert-excel-data-presentation-excel-powerpoint-training-300x170.png\" alt=\"insert-excel-data-presentation-excel-powerpoint-training\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-256\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You can work with Powerpoint and Excel side-by-side to add data to an Excel sheet.
