For example say you wanted to find the total, or average of a selection of cells, the status bar is quickest place to get the answer.<\/p>\n<h3>Let&#8217;s\u00a0look at some of the different options available:<\/h3>\n<p>If you right click the status bar you get a list of options. Just tick or untick the options depending on what you will like to see in the status bar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/task-bar-options.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2316 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/task-bar-options-1024x577.png\" alt=\"task bar options\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you want statistical information from selected cells in your worksheet you can tick <strong>Average<\/strong>, <strong>Count<\/strong>, <strong>Numerical<\/strong> count, <strong>Minimum<\/strong>, <strong>Maximum<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Sum<\/strong>. Now every time you select cells in Excel you can read the statistical information in the status bar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/task-bar-show.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2318\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/task-bar-show-1024x577.png\" alt=\"task bar show\" width=\"625\" height=\"352\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are recording macros you can tick <strong>Macro Recording<\/strong> and the record macro button will be conveniently\u00a0accessible in the status bar.<\/p>\n<p>You can also declutter the Excel status bar by removing\u00a0tools you don&#8217;t use. If you untick the <strong>View Shortcuts<\/strong> option you will remove the three shortcuts to change between <strong>Normal<\/strong> view, <strong>Page Break Preview<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Page Layout<\/strong> view to the right on the status bar.<br \/>\nIf you untick <strong>Zoom<\/strong> the zoom percentage will disappear from the right side of the status bar.
