Helping you to analyse, audit and review workbooks, this great new feature also has the potential to highlight errors and security concerns.<\/p>\n<p>We recently discussed, how to <a title=\"STL Microsoft Excel Training\" href=\"\/b\/get-back-control-of-your-excel-spreadsheets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take back control of your spreadsheets <\/a>by reducing \u201cfat finger mistakes\u201d and auditing errors, which can have huge cost implications to businesses. The Inquire add-in is another great tool for preventing these issues from arising and escalating in Excel.<\/p>\n<p>The new tool can be accessed via the Inquire Tab in the ribbon and includes a number of useful functions:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/inquiresiq-300x266.png\" alt=\"Worksheet relationship\" width=\"300\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Workbook analysis<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Workbook relationship<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Worksheet relationship<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cell relationship<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Compare files<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Clean Excess Cell formatting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Workbook passwords<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These seven functions are simple to use, many providing visualisations to help better understand the information.<\/p>\n<p>We all know Excel for being data driven, however, visualising things often makes this mass data easier to understand, take for example\u00a0<a title=\"Excel Training London\" href=\"\/versions\/excel-difference.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recommended charts &amp; graphs<\/a>\u00a0or all new <a title=\"Best STL Excel Training London\" href=\"\/b\/excel-2013-conditional-formatting-through-quick-analysis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quick analysis techniques<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A few of our favourite Inquire features include:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/image6.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1742\" src=\"\/b\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/image6-300x198.png\" alt=\"Cell Relationship in Excel 2013\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cleaning excess formatting, including formatting in blank cells which bloats file size and contributes to poor performance in Excel.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">The ability to compare two workbooks, highlighting cells that differ. This is particularly useful during an audit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Being able to visualise the relationships between cells. Understanding the audit trail of how a figure came to be is a great way of maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>How to: Enable the Add-in through File &gt; Options &gt; Add-Ins, from the Manage drop-down choose COM Add-Ins &gt; Go.
