Not very helpful.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A colleague showed me a good way to include my hyperlinks, where they are easily accessible within the document, but assigned to a word.<\/p>\n<p>I type &#8220;go&#8221; and then use the hyperlink function to assign the web address to the word. \u00a0I click into the cell containing &#8220;go&#8221; and then right click to bring up the menu options. \u00a0I click on <strong>Hyperlink\u00a0<\/strong>and another small screen appears where I can copy and paste the web address from my browser, or type it in manually. \u00a0Then click ok.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1087\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1087\" style=\"width: 205px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/hyperlink-apply-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1087\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/hyperlink-apply-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\" alt=\"hyperlink-apply-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate\" width=\"205\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1087\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I right click on the cell with &#8220;go&#8221; and select the Hyperlink option right at the bottom&#8230;.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When I want to access the website quickly from within the document, I click the word &#8220;go&#8221; and it takes me to the page I want. \u00a0See how little space this needs, in comparison to putting in the whole address.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1088\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1088\" style=\"width: 185px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/tidy-hyperlink-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1088\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/tidy-hyperlink-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\" alt=\"tidy-hyperlink-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate\" width=\"185\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1088\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">See how little space this now takes up.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When you put your mouse on the hyperlink text, Excel will show you the address as a quick way to preview the information.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1089\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1089\" style=\"width: 192px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/hyperlink-preview-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1089\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stl-training.co.uk\/b\/exceltraining\/files\/2012\/11\/hyperlink-preview-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate.png\" alt=\"hyperlink-preview-microsoft-excel-2007-intermediate\" width=\"192\" height=\"52\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1089\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Preview of the web address, if I click on the hyperlinked text.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If you want to change or remove the hyperlink, just right click on the word you&#8217;ve assigned and make the changes or remove the link.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hyperlinks aren&#8217;t just for web addresses, I can assign them to another worksheet location, or intranet page, or file.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"\/microsoft\/excel-advanced-courses.php\">Consider: Advanced Excel course<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I like to have easy access to web pages that link to the data I&#8217;m working on. \u00a0I can copy and paste the web address into a column, which is fine, but takes up lots of space.
